Happy Birthday to Monica

The Niece and Nephew were over today for a little while, and with the rain ruining already made plans to blow bubbles outside we needed a project to keep them busy indoors. Drawing and painting were not deemed worthy, and too much Caillou had already been consumed. When the kids wandered into the office to break up my glorious self-rocking-out session, we decided it would be fun to record a homegrown version of "Happy Birthday" for their mother Monica (Birthday forthcoming). The process was more than entertaining, even though it required a few takes to get Sammy warmed up to the idea of singing into a microphone. Theresa played a mean rhythm guitar while everyone sang, Laura played the triangle, Sammy shook some eggs, and everyone beat on an exercise ball for a nice punchy kick drum sound. If I knew how to post audio to this blog, I would. It's pretty funny and sweet all at the same time. Also, I wouldn't want to anger the mean old copyright owner out there by stealing revenue that they would've otherwise received somehow from me not posting it...

Laura keeping time with the triangle.

Sammy shakin' those shakers with what the good lord gave him.
