Target Field Opening Day

Theresa and I are sharing season tickets with a large group of friends (and a few strangers) this summer. Sixteen shares of tickets in total between four seats - which turns out to be two seats for us to ten games. The seats are in the fourth row of section B in the Legend's Club level. I happened to win a drawing for the group's tickets to the home opener, and oh. my. science. this place in incredible. I still don't really have the words to describe the experience. The Twins hadn't played a home game outdoors since I was three months old. Over the years I was able to attend four total outdoor MLB games until the opening of Target Field.
  1. Early 1990s - Milwaukee Brewers v. Some other team @ Milwaukee County Stadium: All I remember about this game was the mosquitos.
  2. July 3rd, 2008 - New York Yankees v. Boston Red Sox @ Yankee Stadium: Yankees fans don't know how to find their seats, and they are also horrible stereotypes (see Jersey Shore). No surprise the stadium was replaced, just wasn't up to modern standards.
  3. July 7th, 2008 - Boston Red Sox v. Minnesota Twins @ Fenway Park: Amazing atmosphere, best regular season game atmosphere I've ever experienced in fact. Twins lost 1-0 in a nail biter, Twins win would've been nice, but excellent entertainment nonetheless.
  4. July 8th, 2008 - New York Mets v. San Francisco Giants @ Shea Stadium: Another stadium that I wasn't surprised to see replaced. Mets fans are also pretty much stereotypes (see The Sopranos). Got to see the freak pitch, poorly though. Also got to see the big apple pop up out of the hat in center field.
Our first two trips so far have featured hot dogs, sodas, a Twins win, a Twins loss, and the almighty SUN. Wearing sunglasses at an MLB game in Minneapolis, with the skyline looming in right field, I just don't know what to write to explain how happy this has made me. Anyways. Some pictures:
