Purina Mill Demolition

While letting the dog out this morning, I was able to take a quick video of the Purina Mill demolition. The process has picked up steam over the past week as what is expected be the final round of approvals took place on Monday at the Planning Commission. The main tower is finally coming down, and if all goes as planned the Longfellow Station project will break ground in 2011. The project has been pared down to 180 apartments and some retail space. While I'm excited to see something finally move forward on the site, I'm disappointed in some of the details of the project (namely the ground floor parking, and the relatively inefficient use of the property - it really should only be built on a portion of its current footprint). Anyways, without further ado - tearing stuff down:

Apparently I need to learn how to zoom in on my camera phone...
