So... I'm brewing beer with a handful of coworkers. Things are going smoothly, aside from a few hiccups here and there. We had a boilover of our wort on the first brewing attempt, and it was a disgusting hot mess. We solved that problem however by purchasing a 10-gallon brewpot. So far, we've brewed three malt extract kits purchased at
Midwest Homebrewing Supplies.

#1 -
Irish Stout - The boilover brew. First tasting at transfer to secondary fermentation was pretty green. Second tasting at bottling however was encouraging. Bottled last Monday (we tried to turn it into rocket science, it was pretty funny), at least another two weeks before testing the final product.
#2 -
Fuggles IPA - Our first brew with the fancy new brewpot and wort chiller. Currently in secondary fermentation. First tasting at transfer was already awesome - flavors need more developing, but the hoppiness is perfect right now.

#3 -
Hex Nut Brown Ale - We're feeling like pros at this point, currently in primary fermentation. If it tastes anything like the beer it is modeled after (
Goose Island Nut Brown Ale), I'll be really happy.
Next up, Mr. Ellis is considering his brew selection, sounds like we might take a crack at a
California Common style beer. Suggestions for beer names and brewery names will be considered if submitted. So far, our suggestions include:
